Eventually they get picked apart by birds, dragged to the side by dogs, wolves and other predators and disappear. Many counties have local cleaning crews that pickup all the road kill before the wildlife gets to them.

∙ 8y agoIf you leave a pet by the roadside, it's probably going to be run over by a car or truck. If you leave it in the wilderness, it's probably going to starve because it has no idea how to hunt for food because you've been feeding it. If you don't want a pet, it's best to take it to a shelter and give it up so it will at least have a chance of being adopted again.
