If they are white it will be blue. Otherwise it doesn't matter. Also, if white cats have one blue eye and one other-colored eye, they may be deaf on the side with the blue eye.

∙ 10y agoCats, like dogs, can see some colours: They can tell the difference between red, blue and yellow, and between red and green, although these are less distinguishable. Cats are able to distinguish between blues and violets better than between colours near the red end of the spectrum.
However, colour is of little importance to cats. They hunt by the motion of their prey, not by its colour.

They can also have gold, green-gold, yellow, orange, and maybe a few others.

No, not all blue eyed cats are deaf. If any any are then it is usually a condition brought about by some defect within the cats ears at birth. There is a more likelihood of an albino cat being born deaf. It doesn't mean having blue eyes makes you deaf.

Are black and tans good with cats?
Yes, they are. Believe it or not, the gene that creates the color of black cats also fights off diseases, so black cats generally live long, happy lives. However, I am not sure if the same thing happens with tan cats, because white cats kind of get ill easily, and with blue eyes they are often born deaf, and as you know tan is just pretty much a darker shade of white/cream. The same things might NOT happen with tan cats though, because obviously it's a different color. I really don't know what to believe with the tan stuff though.

This is not strictly true. White cats with blue eyes have an increased chance of being deaf due to their genetics. Not every white cat with blue eyes will be deaf, and white cats with other coloured eyes have very little chance of being deaf.
