Wasps are generally found in or around their nests in greatest numbers.
Naturally you will find them flying around - particularly if you enjoy outdoor living.
Always be careful when entertaining outdoors that they don't enter cans or bottles of any sugary drink as you can swallow them, quite often resulting in them stinging the inside of your throat which can lead to swelling and suffocation.
Be really careful where children are concerned. I got a really good ebook from waspsgone.com (I think) that had heaps of great info in it

Some do have underground nests. The yellow jacket is an example.
People normally do not keep wasp hives. Bee hives are kept for two reasons: to produce honey for consumption or sale, and to help pollinate crops. Wasps do not produce honey or pollinate crops. Some scientists who study wasps, called entemologists, may keep captive wasp hives for observation and study.
Wasps do not collect other dead wasps. However, if a wasp is injured, it will emit a special pheromone that will warn other wasps that there is danger nearby. Sometimes other wasps will come to see what that danger might be.
Bees typically live in a vespiary, which is a nest created by social wasps. Bees create hives, while wasps build vespiaries.
Obviously. No matter what country you live in, there will always be a wasp.
