Best Answer

They live in more than one.

The roadrunner (Geococcyx) lives in all the southern US deserts, all of the Mexican deserts and all of the deserts in Central America (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Belize, Costa Rica and Panama).

The Greater Roadrunner (Geococcyx Californianus) lives in the south-western US deserts and shrub lands as well as the north-western Mexican deserts.

A roadrunner's environment is usually located in a half desert, half suburban region were a local body of water is located and where snakes live, which is in the desert. They have been known to wander into city streets and whatnot. Arizona is a main hot spot for road runners because it is exactly what their environment is: half suburban, half desert.

The Greater Roadrunner is a very fast bird. They can be found in deserts in the southwest. They don't make the beep beep noise we all grew up thinking they do but they kind of bark.
