Mine are mad about grapes!
Chickens like to eat all sorts of stuff, like meal worms, corn, rice, and sometimes dirt. Some chickens like lettuce, but you have to cut the pieces up really small or worms, Spiders, etc chickens eat any thing but they like whole corn better

∙ 15y agoChickens, in general, like to do a variety of things. They love to dig for bugs in the rain, peck around for vegetation in the day, as well as other scratching activities. Chickens like to eat corn, and flap their wings when it's windy out. Chickens like to do lots of things, but most of all, they love to cluck.

∙ 12y agoChasing your hand (in a spider-like fashion) around the floor. i was mucking around with my baby chicken one day when she started chasing my hand. the love it, its a great way to get them running around and practising walking.
food wise ground up oatmeal seems to be a favourite, remember to NEVER give them avocado as it is poisonous to these little babes.
From 3-4 days on they like a little more stimulation i.e. things to peck at on the floor, going under obstacles, hopping up on things. if you only have one or two chicks and you don't have a proper heat lamp, try a heat pack, although you will need to re-heat it every few hours as when they are only a couple of days old, keeping them warm is really, really important.

It may be possible to teach a chicken (probably very simplified version of) checkers, though they would probably have a hard time moving the pieces. Chickens can be taught tricks and complex actions, so in theory they may be able to play some checkers, though they may not really get it.
