if barking doesn't scare it it will hoot, beat his chest, and throw things like vegetation or rocks, if that doesn't work it will charge, hand swipe and bite the intruder
Gorillas usually give birth to one baby at a time, although twins can occur rarely. The gestation period for gorillas is around 8.5 months. Once born, the baby gorilla is dependent on its mother for care and protection.
"Disrespect" doesn't translate well between Human and animals. Gorillas are generally not considered aggressive, but Silverbacks are the protectors of their group. If a person is perceived as a threat, gets too close, is too noisy, things like that, they might decide to act. Since the number of recorded attacks is very small, it's hard to tell with any accuracy what will happen. It'll usually start with some display behaviour, standing upright, chest drumming, that kind of thing. Then maybe a mock charge, where the animal rushes in, and then stops just short of impact. Anyone foolish enough not to take THAT hint may well face a full-on assault the next time. When gorillas fight other gorillas, it's usually mostly like wrestling combined with biting, so if a gorilla got properly angry with a human, that's probably what it'll do. If it's not quite that angry, it might settle for tackling you to the ground and throw you about a bit. Either way, they're very strong animals that can do a lot of damage very fast. Best is not to get them angry.
