What do horses do when scared?

Horses can be spooked by anything at all: Traffic, rubbish on the floor, leaves, other horses, people walking behind them, running up to them, using the whip, lunging, any gaits of riding, trees, roads, anything a tall, but even some bombproof horses are scared of fireworks and most other things.
