mice weigh about a pound at six months, and live 1-2 years. rats live for 3-4 years and weigh about 400 gram at six months.

Cats are natural hunters and can begin hunting and catching small prey like mice as early as 6-8 weeks of age. By around 6 months of age, most cats will have developed their hunting skills and instincts to effectively catch mice and other small animals.
Usually around 600 lbs.
Rats are more docile, and often a lot larger. Rats can grow two times bigger than a mouse. Rats are the smartest rodents on earth (about same IQ as a cat or dog) and can be taught many tricks and commands. Most rats have a longer lifespan than mice. They are able to live up to 2 years, whereas the average lifespan of mice is nine months to a year. However, mice are much smaller and they are not as docile. A mouse will normally have larger ears in proportion to their head, their tail will be smaller and lighter (more movable), and they do not show the same level of intelligence. Rats are known to be cautious, and less easily caught in a trap. Mice tend to be more curious, and will investigate a tra more readily - to their detriment. Professional pest controllers know that, initially, they need to place un-set rat traps around so that rats have a chance to get used to the items. Once the rats are used to the trap, they can be set. Mice traps, on the other hand, will catch mice immediately, unless they are simply set inte wrong place. Mice are more likely to stand up on their hind legs, supported by their tail, in order to feed or fight. They are better jumpers. They also tend to be afraid of rats, and are repelled by rat smells. In the period of a year, female mice can breed up to 10 litters of 5 to 6 young; rats can have six litters of up to 12 young in the same period. Young mice can breed from about 6 weeks old, whereas young rats reach reproductive age at closer to 3 months.
A typical litter of rats can have 6-12 babies, also known as pups. The survival rate of these pups is variable and can be influenced by factors such as the health of the mother, availability of resources, and the presence of predators. In optimal conditions, a significant number of pups from a litter can survive to adulthood.
Mice usually reproduce when they are about 6-8 months old.
if u mean "why are rats considered more then mice", they are more intelegent and VERY clean! trust me, i have pet rats and they clean themselvs every 6 or 7 minets.
mice nimh love children care love who u are
Wild mice usually live about 6 months.
dude like it varies
Rats don't give birth to mice, rats give birth to rats. A young rat might be the size of a mouse but is still a rat. Of course if you are talking about how many they could dine on at a time I would think 4 to 6 would make a decent meal for a rat.

rats are full grown at 6 months
baby rats dont have no hair and are like a inch to a inch in a half and baby rabits have hair and are big I don't know about rats but baby rabbits are born with no fur and with their eyes closed. They start to get fur at 3 days of age and open their eyes at 10 days. They are from 2 1/2 inches to 6 inches long when they are born depending on breed.

Mice, Rats, Hamsters, Gerbils, and Guinea Pigs all eat the same stuff. Wal-Mart or any pet store sells bags of rodent food for 5 - 6 Bucks.
I usually feed my baby ball python 1 LIVE mouse every 2 weeks.I don't know why people say its not good.if its not good than why do people sell mice that our suppose to be for snakes A baby ball python should be started on rat pups as it's very difficult to switch them to rats, they are very finicky eaters. When they get bigger it's going to take a LOT of mice to feed them. My adult male is 3.5 ft long and could easily take 6 mice in one sitting without even getting a lump in his belly. As it is, he eats 2-3 medium rats every 2-3 weeks. If you want to feed live, that's your choice just watch until your snake begins eating so the mouse or rat does not kill your snake. You will have to deal with scars though. It would be cheaper to buy frozen/thawed since pet stores are trying to discourage buying their rats and mice for snake food by making live mice and rats unreasonably priced. You can buy f/t in bulk and they will last longer. A few months rather than a few days or weeks (when a rat/mouse will become too large for you snake).
