Saltwater crocodiles eat fish, birds, and mammals that come too close to the water's edge are eaten. The adult crocodiles will eat almost anything that comes too close. Younger crocodiles will eat smaller fish and insects.

Wallabies, pigs, deer, monkeys, cattle, and other species are preyed upon depending on the location. On occasion humans may become prey, in addition to horses and water buffalo. Crocodiles rarely attack other predators but there are records of saltwater crocodiles eating other crocodiles, leopards and other predators.
