As strange as this may sound, when a shark encounters a human beeing in the water, there is a very high probability this shark has never seen before such a «strange fish» in the oceans.
Usually the shark feels curiosity, but also caution. He is intrigued, and keeps distance, unless it is provoked attacked.
But sharks (specially Great Whites) may mistake surfers by seals. If this happen, a shark attack may occur.
