I am so sorry to hear this. It's heart breaking. Just like humans it's normal for your mama dog to grieve, but not healthy if it goes on for weeks. There are two things you can do:
the other puppies will be born and the dead puppy will simply just come out.
Puppies are deaf and blind when they are just born. They love all sorts of meat. Puppies can be able to hear and see after nine weeks have passed.
I THINK you have to wait until they are born, but you can check with the AKC. www.AmericanKennelClub.com I really hope this was helpful...my dog just had puppies too, so I know how it feels
It is not unusual the female to only have two or even one puppy; especially if it is her first litter.
I would say that people tend to go for female dogs more because sometimes they have maternal instincts, just like a woman would; but I have nothing against male dogs, and they can sometime be more caring than female dogs. I would also say that people go for males because females get to where they have a period and could possibly have puppies. When a female dog has her puppies you have to be sure that the female is a good dog that doesn't bite before you touch her puppies. Your dog has to trust you before you even get close to her puppies.
Puppies are just like humans but, a little different. Puppies are born from there mother just like us, we are 75% water & 25% meat.

spading a puppy wont change the way they act it will just get rid of urges and unwanted puppies wont be born

Wolves can only have puppies once a year in the spring. They usually have around 8 puppies, but over half will die before reaching adulthood. True high content wolfdogs only have puppies once a year in spring, just like pure wolves, as well.
No, but you should not handle them too much, if just born. Let the mother care for them.
Matties mother had just passed away.
