Well, guinea pigs can be finicky so find out what food he had when he was at the pet store. Guinea pigs need pellets so make sure he as plenty. Also empty out the pellets and put completely new pellets in there once ever 2 weeks about. Unless your piggie likes to play and sit in his food (which is normal depending on the pig) than clean it more often.
They should have food and water available to them at all times. You can look up what types of veggies and fruits to feed them and how often, but the water and pellets just always keep them filled. Check the pellets daily to see if they need to be re-filled and change the water daily. Hope this helped you.
Baby guinea pigs will feed from their mother, and she will feed them at the right time. Older guinea pigs need their food bowl topped up 2-3 times a day. Make sure water bottle is always full.
Feeding a guinea pig with no teeth isn't that difficult. Just mash it's faveourite fruit or veggie and then spoon feed it. Also, I have found they eat grated carrot/apple well. This will need to be offered them every 1-2 hours so they do not get hungry.
salt wheels give guinea pigs some of the minerals they need but cant get yeah it is suitable for them but most of the time they don't eat it and when you clean out their cage you could axidently through it away with the other poo
You can. Rabbit pellets and guinea pig pellets are essentially the same thing. Guinea pig pellest usually have vitamin C included in their ingredients...which is an essential vitamin for a guinea pig to consume. Other animals, like rabbits, horses etc, make their own vitamin C but guinea pigs don't, so like us, they need to consume it by eating things like apples. My recommendation is that you buy guinea pig pellets; rabbits can eat them as well and you make sure your pig is getting what it needs.
Hell no. All you need is fresh water, grass hay, natural pellets, fresh vegetables and fruits for treat. Please, check the link for info about guinea pig feeding.
Guinea pig pellets are small pieces of food that guinea pigs eat. Pellets can be timothy based or alfalfa based. For an adult guinea pig a timothy based pellet is best because alfalfa includes extra protein and calcium that young (under age one) and pregnant guinea pigs need, but adult guinea pigs don't. Pellets should be available to guinea pigs at all times as they are the main part of a guinea pig's diet. Source Guinea pig owner
They need unlimited timothy hay, 1/8 to 1/4 a cup timothy based pellets, and about a cup of veggies per day, plus a little bit of fruit once a week. To learn more about guinea pig care, go to guineapigcages.com
Well, if you arn't feeding them Guinea pig foods, such as pellets, and alot of vegatables, then I don't blame them. But if you are, you need to visit your local Vet. It might be caused by the guniea Pig dying or is sick.Hope this helped:)
NO! Not only does it not have the nutrition they need, piggies can choke very easily on seeds (another reason not to buy the "mix" guinea pig food - just get pellets)
they will need some hay, water bottle, food bowl, hutch , pellets
Guinea pigs are actually rather picky eaters! They need their pellets, of course. Chose pellets with extra veggies and things, as they provide nutrient. Piggies also need lettuce, broccoli, and other vegetables on a daily basis. Some guinea pigs like certain foods, where as others don't, so pay attention to your guinea pig's tastes. They also need timothy hay. It's pretty cheap and they don't need a whole bunch of it, but it's a good idea to give them a handful once or twice a day.
All rabbits need pellets, as this is the main source of their vitamins and minerals their body needs to function. The pellets will help wear down their teeth that are ever-growing and give them the protein and fiber that their bodies desperately need to function. Pellets should be supplemented with fresh, good-quality grass hay or alfalfa when they're younger and after they're about 6 months old, you can start introducing select veggies to them. But it is highly suggested you continue feeding pellets throughout their lifetime.
We have has guinea pigs for years and we give them salt wheels, all animals need some salt and they only eat vegetable and pellets which aren't high in salt content. So yes, guinea pigs can have salt wheels.
Hay and plenty of suitable veggies are great though if they do not have guinea pig muesli or nuggets/pellets then they will need something to gnaw on-suitably treated wood (specifically for guinea pigs) or salt blocks (can be found in most good pet shops) :)

yes they are small and don't need to be walked but watch out if you have a dog
