Devon cows are often a deep red to lighter chestnut color with a nose being light pink. They almost look like a mix between Salers and Red Angus (and could easily be confused with the two breeds), but often have horns that are made to point downward in a similar fashion to the Horned Herefords. Their hair is of medium thickness that is short in the summer but long and curly in the winter. Bulls weigh from 1700 lbs to 2200 lbs, and cows from 950 to 1300 lbs, making them a smaller, yet practical and profitable breed to work with.

In a way, but remember male cows don't exist, unless they are male and look like a cow, which is often if you find a "bull" that looks like a cow but has testicles where there should be an udder. Ultimately, bulls are bulls, and are the much more masculine counterpart of the female bovine (the cow).
