They lie on the bottom of whatever water they inhabit and wait for fish to swim by. They have a worm like appendage on their tongues which they wiggle to attract their prey. When the prey swims within reach they attack and catch the prey and eat it. They are extremely fast and powerful. They grow quite large. Some into the 100 + pounds area. They can easily remove a finger or even a hand if you reach out to them. My grandfather caught one on a trot line and when he tried to pull it into the boat it bit a hand sized chunk out of the side of his boat. I could easily imagine that in addition to fish, carrion could be included in their diet A:- I LOVE ANIMALS AND THIS IS THE BEST INFORMATION -that first answer is only the alligator snapping turtle. outher turtles like the common snaping are Florida snapping are any other are ambush predators are sometimes chase after they prey items THEY CAN ONLY EAT UNDER WATER IF YOU KEEP YOUR TURTLE OUT A WATER IT WOULD STARVE TO DEATH THEY CAN ONLY SWALLOW UNDER WATER KEEP THE WATER ABOVE THE TURTLE SO IT CAN SWALLOW.

No, an African Lion has a much stronger bite force than a snapping turtle. Lions have one of the strongest bite forces among land animals, while snapping turtles have a strong bite force for their size but it is not as powerful as a lion's.
Actually turtle do not eat other turtles as their daily life food. Baby turtle may eat fish food from the store. Make sure that the fish food is really small though or the turtle may not eat the food. When the turtle gets bigger, you can feed the turtle green veggies. You can feed them different veggies too. Be sure that the veggies are soft because the turtle cannot chew hard foods, such as carrots.

No Snapper do not eat Crayfish but they eat Kiwi and other Native animals.
I would have to say no, but if you do you might want to check them to see if they don't fight, but I still wouldn't do it because then they will get use to each other when it is time to separate them and they will not eat. And the painted turtle might just go ahead and eat the snapper because it would be small enough to eat.
Nothing. Leave it where you found it!
