Coniferous trees have oily leaves or needles and remain green throughout the winter. Species of coniferous trees include, pine, cedar, and fir. Most Coniferous trees are softwood. Deciduous trees have large leaves, which they shed in the winter. Species of deciduous trees include, maple, oak, and cherry. Most of these trees are hardwood.
