By appearance what do you mean?
Appearance in another animal or person?
If you are on about a person then appearance doesn't mean anything but if you are on about an animal then it means alot.
Like we would rather a girl than a dog or elephant.
It's just the same with an animal they would rather a different animal than a person.

Animals with different traits refer to variations in characteristics such as physical appearance, behavior, or abilities within a species. These differences are the result of genetic variation and adaptation to different environments, helping the species to survive and thrive in diverse ecosystems.
Animals that undergo metamorphosis, such as butterflies, frogs, and beetles, undergo dramatic physical changes as they grow and develop. Other animals, like chameleons and cuttlefish, can change their color or appearance to blend in with their surroundings or to communicate with other animals. Some animals, like the arctic fox and snowshoe hare, change their fur color with the seasons to match their environment for camouflage.
Some Australian animals that have been transported to other parts of the world include kangaroos, koalas, and wallabies. These animals are often found in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries around the world for conservation and educational purposes.
