Red eyed hamsters tend have poorer eyesight than black eye hamsters. Sometimes the hamsters eyes will change color an example: when a hamster is young it's eyes are red but when it gets older, it's eye color might change to black

∙ 14y agoSome hamsters have red eyes due to their blood vessels. I don't think this is anything 'bad, I've had a few hamsters that have had red eyes- it doesn't seem to of effect them in any way. :)

∙ 15y agoYou should take your hamster to the vet. My hamster's eyes started looking red last week, then suddenly one day they popped out of her head. She was scratching them and could not seem anything. the vet gave me eye drops and antibiotics and the swelling went down within a few hours.

∙ 15y agoNo, not all of them. The true albino is said to have dark color eyes. People call an animal that is white an albino where as the fact is a true albino is just an animal with no color but white.

∙ 13y agoNo, if a hamster has red eyes they are not blind. Typically, If a hamster has white fur it's eyes will be bright red. The only hamster I know of that this trait does not apply to is the Russian Dwarf Pearl Winter White hamster, which has white fur, but eyes such a dark red they appear almost black. Some white rabbits also have bright red eyes.

∙ 13y agoNo, hamsters are color blind and see black in white. make sure you don't put them in sunlight because then they are practically blind and cant see that good.
They use their whiskers to feel around as they are on the move.
