Because they need to rest their feet legs and ruminate, and also to catch some sleep.
No. Cows are not built to sleep standing up like horses are. Because cows are heavy in the brisket and barrel area, holding all that weight with fat, muscle, four-chambered stomach and other organs, they choose to lay down to sleep instead of remaining standing. They do doze, however when they are standing up, but it is only a light doze, not a sleep.
In general, no: cows are pretty much the definition of a placid and peaceful animal. However, cows can be provoked into aggressive behavior if they (or their offspring) feel threatened; since they can weigh over a thousand pounds (400 kg.) it wouldn't be wise to get on their bad side.
Yes they do because all cows are girls and all bulls are boys
They are called herbivores.
They don't. This is a myth. Cattle will just keep on grazing or head for shelter when it rains. Most cattle don't give a hoot whether they get wet or not. If it's a light rain, they'll just keep grazing. If it's a heavy downpour or a cold rain that chills you right to the bone, then they will head for shelter (a grove of trees, a barn or a shed) and bunch up together to keep warm. An experienced cattle producer will tell you that it's not true that cattle will lay down when it's going to rain or even when it does rain. And even an animal scientist can tell you that cattle don't have this barometric-pressure sensing thing that makes them "have to" lay down right before it rains. The only time cattle will lay down, even when it's all together, is when they're chewing the cud or need a time to rest. Cattle are herd animals, and do anything together, from eating to sleeping to even mating.
Yes..cows sleep. cows are mammals, all mammals sleep.
No. Cows are not capable of lying like humans are, in the context of the ability to not tell the truth. All animals, except humans, never lie no matter what people think.
It depends on what you mean by "lying down." If you just mean flopping down on the sofa or bed to work, you certainly can still concentrate and do your work that way. However, if you mean curling up and getting all snuggly and comfy ... you'll probably end up falling asleep!

well I've seen baby giant pandas eating lying down and the giant pandas sometimes stand or sit
What do you mean by can all boys eat cows? ~ Boys who are vegetarians do not eat cows, since cows are meat. Some boys do not eat beef/cows because of their religious beliefs, because of the mad cow disease, or because of the idea that red meat is not good for you. These restrictions most likely come from their parents/guardians.

Cows like all mammals have breasts, they have udders, and there used to milk the cows.
If by "top of the globe" you mean "on the surface of the Earth", that would be all of them.
yes all cows moo.
The cows will be an alien cow.
