When rabbits thump their back foot does that mean there's danger?

Rabbits thump their back feet when they think there is danger. Key word is THINK. They are scared easily by other animals, or loud noises. Thumping technically is their way of warning fellow rabbits of something "dangerous" or a possible danger. Rabbits also thump when they're frustrated (or possibly sexually excited, or a little angry). It should be obvious by the rabbit's body language which kind of thump it means. If the rabbit looks alert, eyes wide, body taught and tense, then it thinks there may be danger around; if it's hopping around and scratching at things or playing or humping, then it's frustrated.

Why do rabbits circle your feet?

Rabbits might give a loud thump with their hind legs to show that this is their territory, and they would like you to stay away. A rabbit will also do this behavior to show displeasure of something, such as an empty food bowl that it would like you to fill. Be cautious if your rabbit is thumping its feet repeatedly toward you - a bunny may thump so hard that it could break one of its hind feet. Some rabbits do do this quite a lot but it's not really anything to be majorly worried about as in most cases it will probably just mean leave me alone. Running circles around you is a sign of affection.
