It's unlikely that you can breed two dog breeds other than a chihuahua to create one. The dogs that made the chihuahua could be ancient or extinct. Chihuahuas could have also not come from crosses at all, just selective breeding.
There are around 40 breeds of Chipmunk, they are definitely not extinct I have one myself.
