Humans eat cows. Why? Because cows (or generally, cattle) are shipped from the farm or ranch to the slaughter plant to be killed, gutted, cleaned, hung, quartered and cut into meat or what we like to call beef which is served on a styrofoam platter wrapped in cellophane. Primarily the beef is put on this display-type form at the butcher area of the grocery store because they received the cuts of beef in boxes right from the slaughter plant.
People who buy directly from a farm or ranch have a steer they selected slaughtered at the local slaughter house (following the same process as described above as being gutted, cleaned hung for a few weeks, then quartered), and boxed up to be put in the freezer until later use.
The hide, bones viscera and other body parts get used and processed in many other industries.
Other animals that may eat a cow are cougars, wolves, bears, and scavengers like coyotes, wolves, ravens, magpies, crows, vultures, hawks, eagles, etc.
