First Answer: A wild rabbit gets its food from digging in the ground and it eats roots, vegetable leaves, and a big majority of its diet is what people leave behind in park, etc. As for pet rabbits they eat timmothy hay...pellets are not good for a rabbits digestive system.....it will cause diharia. Also give them some vegetables and fruit such as strawberries parsley carrot TOPS and brussels sprouts. Pet rabbits get their food from you!

A different answer (disagreement): Wild rabbits get their food by foraging and grazing. The majority of a wild rabbit's natural diet is grass and leaves; they also eat some vegetables, fruits, and grains. Pet rabbits eat hay, pellets, and certain fresh vegetables and fruits (see the related question below for details).

The kind of food that people leave behind in parks is very unhealthy for rabbits. Like meat scraps: but rabbits are herbivores (vegan). And bread scraps, and apple cores: but fruit and grains should be very small parts of a rabbit's diet.

Wild rabbits don't normally live amongst humans like squirrels and raccoons do. If a park has lots of rabbits, they're probably abandoned pet rabbits - feral, not wild. They do not live a good life and they should be rescued by professionals.

Pellets are perfectly healthy for rabbits but they should be high-quality (there are many bad pellets on the market), and they should be limited. Pellets don't lead to diarrhoea, but too many can lead to cecal dysbiois (which kind of looks like diarrhoea), also obesity, GI stasis, and other health problems.

Can rabbits eat canned food?

Rabbits shouldn't eat canned foods. Rabbits eat enough processed food as it is with their pellets, so when it comes to other foods -- vegetables, fruits -- fresh is better. One person wrote previously "yes they can, but it should be limited," but this is NOT widely recommended at all.

Can rabbits eat out of date red grapes?

Rabbits can't eat any "out of date" foods. Anything you wouldn't eat, don't give the rabbit. (Of course, some foods you'd never eat, like carrot tops; but you can still tell if it's fresh or not in the same way you can tell if your food is fresh or not.) Don't give any foods to your rabbit that are rotten, spoiled, moldy, etc.

What is safe for rabbits and ginepigs to eat?

I would say that a few safe foods for rabbits and guineapigs to eat would be: * carrots (thin and small, shredded) * lettuce * rabbit food from the store * guineapig food from the store * most other vegetables that are small and thin Hope this helps!

Do guinea pigs eat chapati?

No, rabbits don't eat prepared human foods, or commercial human foods. Rabbits only eat commercial rabbit food (pellets) and fresh whole foods like hay, fresh leafy greens, and fresh fruit and vegetables as a treat. Rabbits don't eat any meat, animal products or bi-products, diary products, animal fats (including butter), etc. Rabbits don't dried spices, either, or spicy foods. See the related question below about the proper rabbit diet.

Do bunnies eat dog food?

They might eat it if you gave it to them, but it would not be that good for them. Rabbits need plant based foods and dog foods would have too much meat protein in them.
