What gender of the lions hunt?

Yes. The female lionesses of the pride do the bulk of the hunting. Male lions duties mostly involve protecting the pride and fathering cubs. However, in cases where the pride is trying to bring down a large prey like a Giraffe or a Cape Buffalo, male lions too involve in the hunt.

Yes they do, most of the time anyway. They're the ones that mainly do the work when it comes to lions. The only thing the male cats do is defend the territory [which of what I've learned so far doesn't get disturbed that often],sleep for long periods of times and lay around doing nothing, getting females pregnant, and eating the juicy parts of the meal that the lionesses had just gotten tiring and worning themselves out from for the whole entire pride [meaning pack] to eat. Plus, on top of that all they have a huge nursery to feed, clean, and take care of. But sometimes they sneak huge bites when and if it's fresh meat before they take it to the rest. Even though many people think male lions are stronger, they arent the ones that hunt. But they do play a part. The females hunt, while the males stop at home and guard, for both jobs, they both need to be strong, but the hardest job is the guarding one, you never know what animal might come up! Maybe tigers, who knows? But in hunting, lions tend to hunt weaker animals, such as gazels and Zebra's.
