A full grown Maltese typically weighs between 4 to 7 pounds and stands about 8 to 10 inches tall at the shoulder. They have a long, silky white coat that hangs straight down, dark expressive eyes, and a black button nose. Their small size and elegant appearance make them popular as companion dogs.

i wont be good for the do he/she might get sick but it wont last. The animal should be taken to a vet. Small amounts of hair may pass but hair doesn't digest. My 8 lb 7 yr old min pin began to vomit bile two weeks ago. She's always been an occasional yacker so I wasn't alarmed. She remained as active as always and showed no signs of pain or distress. She has unlimited access to dry food and since I only need to refill her bowl once a week, I didn't even notice she'd stopped eating until she began to refuse her treats. She had continued to drink as much as she always did. A trip to the vet showed that she had lost two lbs, was anemic and had an infection. X-rays showed that there was a problem with her spleen. Ultrasound dispelled that, showing a foreign body about 2 cm. Surgery to remove it uncovered a 2" x 6" hairball. (Gross) The vet had to remove her entire stomach to get the mass out. $1600.00 and four days later, she is as good as new. (Praise God) Vet says it had been there for a long time. I have waist length hair but always keep it tied back and though some of it does break off, I don't notice more than a few strands on the floor and I vacuum with a Dyson. She must have been eating every strand she could find for a long, long time. My vet recommends cat lax daily once her stomach recovers. If I knew my dog was scarfing as much hair as she could get, I would certainly not have ignored it. I would love to know what causes her to do this, but at least will be aware of her symptoms should this happen again.
If you leave it unclipped it will be long.
He grows a lot of hair and then dies from aids
Yes, it is rare for a Maltese dog to have brown hair. Maltese dogs typically have a white or off-white coat, although some may have light tan or lemon markings. Brown hair in a Maltese may be a result of cross-breeding or other genetic factors.
The Maltese Terrier is a small dog which is mainly white, the Maltese hair can grown very long and silky. They have a lifespan of 12-14years. Althoough the Maltese hair can grow long like a Yorkshire terrier, many owners clip their Maltese hair. The Maltese can grown from 7.5-9 inches tall depending on the sex. They have litters of around three pups and they originate from centeral medditeranian areas. Hope this helps :/
Yes, a Maltese should have regular haircuts either from you or a groomer.
if it's a pure bread Maltese, it should not shed because Maltese have no undercoat which is what makes most other dogs shed--they also have hair which makes them hypoallergenic. Are you sure you have a real Maltese? But something that would help is to comb him/her every day to get rid of some of the hair that would have gotten everywhere.
yes
sorry, but that is kinda a stupid question. if the kid has allergies, yes. if you mean Maltese as in a dog, it shouldn't matter we have a Maltese and it hasn't harmed any kids.
Maltese have longer hair then Shitzu,s and they are white Maltese but Shitzu,s can be brown.
Well, Maltese dogs are very small puffy cute white dogs. if it's a mix, then it will probably look bigger than it's normal size, like if you think a jack Russell terrier mixed with a Maltese is a normal Maltese, you might see: -its bigger -it has more hair, more curly, and wooly. -and it's ears are more flappy. have more questions, i answer all of them! -fluffangel1999
Yes, both Maltese and Poodles have hair so it is only logical that their offspring would have it also.
