It is normally healthy for a pig to be pregnant at five months. As long as you keep an eye on her she should deliver normally. However, if a pig has not mated before, by the time she is seven months her hip bones have conjoined, and would not survive the pregnancy

Is it a bad idea to put a young guinea pig in with an old guinea pig if one is a girl and one is a boy?

Unless one of the guinea pigs is spayed/nuetered they will mate. This can be especially dangerous to the health of the female guinea pig because if she gets pregnant after the age of 9 months the only way she will be able to give birth is by C-section simply because if she has not had a litter before the age of 9 months her pelvic bones will fuse together thus making natural-birth impossible. Also, even if the guinea pigs are "fixed", the older one may bully the younger one because of its small size.

Gestation of Guinea PigA guinea pigs gestation period is 63 - 72 days, which is 9 - 10 weeks.I'm not 100% sure but I think its about 58-65 days, but it varys.

How do you know if a female guinea pig is pregnant?

This is hard to do early on in the pregnancy. It gets easier as the time goes by because the belly will grow very big. If your pet is just fat and not pregnant you can tell if you can see the babies move.

Can baby guinea pigs be housed with an adult male guinea pigs?

Well it depends on the gender of the baby because if the baby is a girl and it is not older than 5 months then I WILL die if it gets pregnant and I am pretty sure you don't want that! But if the baby is a boy then it is fine because they will not fight even if it not related in anyway and the same thing is with the females!

When a guinea pig gets pregnant does it's nipples enlarge?
