Some animals, like snakes, worms, and fish, have evolved to breathe through other means such as skin, gills, or specialized respiratory structures. These animals do not have a traditional nose like mammals do but have adapted alternative ways to take in oxygen from their environment.
Hares and jackrabbits.
Palaeodictyoptera do not have six wings, the extra appendages are known as prothoracic paranotal lobes and are basically chitinous plates which may have been used by these prehistoric insects to stabilise flight profiles.

The insect known for having an elephant-like nose is the "elephant weevil," particularly the species Oryctes rhinoceros. This beetle has an elongated snout that resembles an elephant's trunk, which it uses for digging and feeding. The unique morphology of its snout is adapted for its lifestyle, making it an intriguing example of evolutionary adaptation in insects.
The infection. Sounds like a bacterial infection.
Actually, it is not the nose hair that is long, but shrinking of the skin around it. As we age the body shrinks and so things like nose hairs look longer.
The grasshopper is an interesting insect. The antenna are attached to the head, and are used like a nose. The eyes are also housed in the head.
A trunk, like an elephant.
