It depends on the type of animal, but if you are looking for the broader term of studying all animals- they would be called a zoologist. Or even a biologist but that would also include humans and particles and cells and such!

That is a hunter. It means, 'someone who kills wild animals' pretty much. And killing wild animals and eating them is called hunting. But some wild animals, such as the bald eagle in America, aren't allowed to be hunted or you will serve some serious jail time. Not that I know anything about hunting or that I'm a hunter, because I'm only 10. (Just common sense)

Animals that get hunted by predators are called prey. Prey animals are pursued and captured for food by predators in the wild.
