It is when a part of the guinea pig's intestine comes out of the rectum of the animal. It can be caused by constipation with the animal pushing too hard to expel the fecal matter which is compacted; or even by diarrhea. If it is only a small protrusion, a vet may be able to push it back in. However, if a larger portion is out, then surgery may be required. It may be fatal to the animal.
