A cow shed is a 'Byren' or 'Byre' . It is a very archaic word, from long ago history. However, it is still used in places. A place were cows are milked is called a 'milking parlour/shed'.

Do not confuse with 'Stable' . That is a 'horse shed'. nor a 'fold' . that is a penned field for sheep.
