The epididymis is a coiled tube located at the back of each testis, playing a crucial role in the male reproductive system. It serves as a storage and maturation site for sperm cells produced in the testes. Sperm gain motility and the ability to fertilize an egg as they pass through the epididymis. Additionally, the epididymis helps transport sperm to the vas deferens during ejaculation.
