Things you do not need
Hope this has been helpful to you!
----Large scale hamster keeper
A hamster needs a cage depending on its size. If it's small get a small cage with lots of tubes. They love those. Also, get a hamster wheel and ball so they can exercise. Get hamster bedding(Don't get pine or cedar because it might make your hamster sick). Get hamster food and water tube for water. If you want to get it toys, try getting tubes, chew sticks(they need to chew to keep their teeth short), or a box tower. MOST important of all give it love and attention!
You need to get a cage with a wheel, water bottle, food dish, food, wood chips and block of wood(or something to make sure its teeth don't get to long). That's the must have stuff but if you go to the pet sore and ask one of the staff they will probably recommend other stuff too.
You should put it in the hamster's "home" and leave it alone for a day or two, so it can get comfortable with its' new surroundings. You can though, still give it attention, but try not to "overload" it.
Your hamster doesn't need to go in the ball everyday , If your hamster has an exercise wheel then you can put them in the ball when you want to. I have 2 hamsters and they both have hamster balls and i only put them in it 3 times a week at the most :)

If your hamster is not breathing, I suspect that he has passed away.
Not unless it is the first word in the sentence.
Yes, hamsters don't like to be alone. If you are going to introduce a new hamster to an adult you'll need to be patient with it, young hamsters adapt better to new cage mates though. The best thing to do is to bring your hamster to the pet shop or with the breeder so you can know for sure that your hamster will like the new one and won't be aggressive towards it.

Study hamsters and guinea pigs. and everything you need to know about them. Write down neat notes and hang them around your room. Decide which cages are good and which are bad. Tell your parents occasionally you'd love a hamster - but don't nag them. Set up a fake hamster cage with a plastic box that is the right size. Wash it as much as you need to wash a hamster cage. Pretend to change its food bowl and water as often as you need it. Then, your parents may consider it.
Your hamster was probably tired from all that running and now it probably needs a brake but I'm sure she will get active and everything when she gets new to her new habit.
