Haematogones are immature precursor cells of red blood cells found in the bone marrow. They are often seen in hematologic conditions such as recovery from bone marrow suppression or in certain types of leukemia. Observation of haematogones can provide valuable information about the stage of blood cell development in the bone marrow.
