Overall, since dogs are bigger and have a more powerful jaw, a dog bite is usually considered worse. If you are referring to disease, such as with being bitter by an unknown or stray animal, the likelihood of disease is probably examined more closely if it's a dog bite, such as possible rabies shots, etc. However, in either case they both have the possibility of getting infected and should be looked at or taken care of by a doctor or physician depending on the severity. If it's your own feline friend at home or if it was a cat you are familiar with chances are you probably wouldn't have it looked at by a doctor if it wasn't severe. Treat them with hydrogen peroxide to clean them out and apply a disinfectant ointment like polysporin and if it's a familiar cat that you have no reason to believe has a disease you should be fine. If either bite infects badly and you haven't been to a doctor, make an appointment with your physician, or go to the hospital if you get a high fever and see a red line going up your arm. (this could indicate blood poisoning or septicemia, but this is probably not highly likely if the cut wasn't too bad to begin with and it was cleaned out well.)

It depends, never underestimate either one of them. Sure, burglars are more scared of a huge, barking dog with big sharp teeth, but never think that cat claws and teeth can't do just as much. If your looking for a guard, get both. :)

Since there are probably more pit bull dogs near you than there are panthers - pit bull dogs are more dangarous.
