Snake Saturday is a celebration of St. Patrick of the time he drove the snakes out of Ireland, always celebrated the Saturday before St. Patrick's day. It is a Kansas City holiday, with 2 parades. The main one in North Kansas City and another in the Brookside neighborhood in Kansas City, MO. It is a day long event of green and good times through out the city, rivaling the festivities of actual St. Patricks day itself. With over 250,000 residents claiming Irish ties in the Kansas City area, it is really just another day to celebrate roots.
