Camouflage is one way that mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and birds use to hide themselves from predators or prey. Sometimes a fish, reptile or amphibian can actualy appear to change colors to blend with their background. A tiger's stripes help it blend in with grass and undergrowth so that it can stalk prey animals without being seen.
