Horse HeightHorse sizes vary a lot by breed but a horse is over 14.2 hands when measured at the withers. The average varies from breed to breed, as obviously a light show hack who's maximum height is around 16.hh is never going to have the same average height as a shire or other draught/heavy horse who's minimum height may be 16.hh.

The average length of a horse is 51 hands - Which t##t answered this question? 51 Rat hands? The average size of a horse is 14 hands if its a Warm Blood (i.e Race Horse) and your Giant Breeds like a Shire Horse or a Holstein reaches an average height of 17 hands. Cool!

Well the actual width of a horse will vary by breed. So you'd need to measure each horse to find an average width.
