What is the best breed of dog to get?

It depends, what is your personality? If you have a sensitive personality then a Labrador retriever or mixed breed is to consider. Mostly go to the local shelters there are are kinds of dogs just waiting for new owner.

It is all preference, some prefer large dogs such as labradors who will not yap and are well trained, others like to baby little lap dogs. I personally have a well trained black labrador retreiver and I prefer to have it as it is fun to play with outside, take on walks, and train her. I prefer it over my aunt's shihzu, who is always yapping at the table and is small and not as fun. But my opinion is also based on the way they trained their dog and the way my family trained ours. It is all up to you.

My guess would be a mutt. Because i have a mutt and she is the sweetest thing.
