It can be tricky bringing home a new cat for varying reasons. Depending upon the cat's temperament, it may take longer for the animal to become adjusted to its new surroundings.

Another factor to keep in mind is the environment you are going to be introducing her to; are there children, other pets, is it noisy...? There are lots of things to consider, which will all affect the cat's adaptation process. If you're adopting from a shelter, keep in mind that your new furry friend will have been used to living in a cage, so a house will be very overwhelming for her. It is best to confine the cat to one room, with its litterbox and food/water, for a few days so she can become comfortable. Soon she will want to explore the rest of the house.
