That depends on the parents. They can be a cross between the long and short hair. They can just be the short hair. They can be the long hair. It will just be a surprise there is no way to predict it.
In my experience, they tend to have long haired babies because that is the dominant gene, but there are always exceptions.
Long haired guinea pigs have longer hair and you will have to comb their hair daily. Short haired guinea pigs have shorter hair so you won't really have to comb it.

Really, its just their coat. Its longer around their face. They are bigger boned, and they still act the same as a short haired shepherd; protective and loyal and loving. ♥
You can comb your short haired guinea pig if you want, with a very soft baby brush, but youdon'tneed to unless of course when your bonding with your guinea pig or for a male cleaning there grease gland, there shouldn't really be any need to.
