A mitochondrion is like the powerhouse of a cell. They produce energies for the cell to use. If the cell was a train then the mitochondria would be like the coal or the furnace because they make the train move and without it the train wouldn't be able to do anything.
That's a basic explanation for it but I'm sure there are better. You can also check online to trusted websites with your parents to find out about mitochondria. Or better yet, ask your science teacher! :D
Mitochondria are known as the powerhouse of the cell because they generate energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) through a process called cellular respiration. They play a critical role in converting nutrients into energy that the cell can use for various functions like growth, repair, and movement.
Camouflage is the process of blending into the background. It only works if the predator hunts by looking - animals who hunt by sound or smell are not fooled by camouflage! Many animals have color patterns which match the environment in which they live. If they freeze against this background, they blend in and are harder to see.
what is the function of the spur in the chicken
what is the function of the medulla
The function of the rectum in a fetal pig is the same as the function in a human. It is the area that gets rid of the waste that the body does not use.
Mitochondrion is the power house i.e it generates the energy needed for cellular activities.
Triangle!!! =)
Stores atp.
matrix
Energy, in the form of Atp, production.
Yes, a plant cell has several mitochondria
It is found in a plant cell.
makes and stores energy as ATP. Is the "powerplant" of a cell
produces ATP which is an universal energy that is used by the body
They are the 'power houses' of the cell. They take in glucose and then convert it into usable energy.

A zygote would not pass its "self-test". Embryos screen for several genetic conditions, including impotent mitochondria. The lysosomes of the developing child will explode and apopstosis or "programmed cell suicide" will occur. Theoretically however, an organism could live for a short time without mitochondria. We would just undergo anaerobic respiration but eventuall atrophy from the lactic acid by product. Please read about the Electron transport chain (to understand the importance of mitchondrion) and feel free to comment me if you would like a copy of an article I recently wrote about it.
