From my personal experience with TV shows they tend to make things up. Of all of the sites that I've looked at for an answer to this question all of the sites refered to the the term as it was used in the TV show, My Own Worst Enemy.
A lot of TV shows and movies make up words like this to sound dirty when they are just made up. One movies that did this excessively was Deuce Bigalow - Eurpoean Gigalo, but in Duece Bigalow - European Gigalo they actually used parts of real sexual terms and/or just mismatched the words from real sexual terms.
The only answer that made scence that I've found is still wrong, that is that the "hummingbird" is when a person hums to cause extra pleasure when orally stimulating another person - this already has a name and it isn't called "the hummingbird", it's called "the hummer" or a "hum job".
