Kerry Blue Terriers tend to be 33 - 37 lbs (15 - 17 kg) in weight and females tend to be slightly lighter, so a female would be more towards the lighter end of that gap.

What is the best terrier for a pet?

terriers have a lot of variances between breeds. some are short some are tall, some are energetic some are lazy, but by getting a dog with mixed breeding you get all of the good traits of the dog, and eliminate most of the bad. If you want to have a dog with papers, a rat terrier is a good choice. Its a newer breed, so inbreeding hasn't had an opportunity to take hold, and the dog is bred for its stoutness, and livability. They have very few health problems, are not overly energetic, and have good personalities. Their temperament is fairly neutral, so they are a good choice for being around kids, and their size makes them ideal for apartment/city life. they are loyal, easy to train, and not excessive yappers. They need a fair amount of exercise, but are content to just relax if you are. Oh, and by the way, they are cute as hell!!

How heavy is a Canaan Dog?

It is not possible to say how heavy a dog can get. Different breeds have different average weights. Additionally, the weights of individual dogs within a breed can vary widely, and this will depend on diet and how much exercise or "room" the dog has to wander around in.
