Depending on the use of the farm pig, there are different lifespans.

A market pig would ideally be ready to ship for slaughter at under four months.

A producing sow or producing boar would have a useful life of about five years.

If a pig is fed properly and housed properly, it could live to be twenty or more years, but most farmers need the space in the pen for productive animals, so would cull the animal earlier than that.

If you wanted to eat the pig after it died of natural life, it would be very tough, like eating old moose.
