The record is usually attributed to a Boa Constrictor that lived in captivity to the age of forty. However, a Rubber Boa that was first captured as a large adult in the wild in 1971 lived until 2006. The age of this snake at first capture is estimated to be at least 15 years old and very likely significantly older.
