Depends. If this is a finding on necropsy, inside the body cavity, it may well be cystocercosis--the intermediate form of a type of tapeworm. (In a wild or meat rabbit, you would have to discard the entire carcass lest you acquire a tapeworm by consuming it.) If, however, this is the type of stool you are seeing from a live rabbit, your rabbit may be quite ill--the gut secretes mucous in that amount to lubricate the passage of hard feces and seeing only the mucous is a sign that this isn't working very well. Head to a veterinarian if this is the case, and encourage consumption of oral fluids and long fiber such as that found in grass or quite stemmy alfalfa hays. Pamela Alley, RVT
