Healthy adult cats can range in size from 7-8 pounds to 18-20 pounds. Over 20 pounds is obese for a cat. Note: Unfixed male cats can be very big, typically, ranging between 16 to 20 pounds.

I have 3 cats, one who is small boned and he weighs 7 pounds, another who is average sized and she weighs 12 pounds, and another who has a huge frame for a cat and weighs 18 pounds (not fat...just 3 times the size of my smallest cat).

I've also seen another one roaming my neighborhood who looks like the size of a small dog.

A lion is a cat. If you are asking how lions are different than house cats, then there are many differences. The most obvious are the physical differences such as size, the fact that lions can roar and house cats purr, etc. Also lions live in large groups called prides whereas house cats typically live either alone or with one or two other house cats. Wild lions are responsible for finding and catching their own food whereas a house cat is fed by its owner. Lions are fearful and sometimes aggressive towards humans while house cats are loving towards humans...most of the time.
