My family used it for insect bites.
Yes. A toad got into our drainpipes and we used liquid Palmolive soap to euthanis it.
Tincture of mallow will ease the pain but I don't know of anything that will neutralise it.
Brands like Ivory and Yardley have used horse-based ingredients like tallow (fat from horses) in the past, but most modern soap brands no longer use horse-derived ingredients due to ethical and sustainability concerns. It is unlikely to find soap made from horses in current products on the market.
Soap translated into Afrikaans is seep.
Yes, Palmolive soap does contain animal fat. It has tallow in it, which comes from the fat of a cow.
Tincture of Green Soap is a preparation containing soft soap (made by combining a fatty acid with potassium carbonate or "potash"), lavender oil and alcohol. The official name was Liniment of Soft Soap. This was used to cleanse an area prior to an operation and surgeons used it to wash their hands until newer detergents and other cleansers became available in the mid 20th century. It was also popular as a scalp cleaner during that period. George Gerding
It's not a replacement for the medical grade strength of green soap, but it is a satisfactory alternative.
For more than one hundred years, under the name of " green soap," there has been used in Europe a soap made by saponifying linseed, rape seed, or other vegetable oils with various refuse oils, usually including fish oils, an excess of potassium hydroxide, and a little sodium hydroxide. The green color of this soap was probably due to the presence of chlorophyll in. the impure vegetable oils used. This green soap, or so-called " German soap," was formerly imported into America, but at present has been almost entirely superseded by soft soap made in this country, from which it does not differ in the nature of its active constituents or in its therapeutic properties.
I have used Green Tincture Soap for over 30 years. I was given a bottle before the birth of my first son. It healed my apeseotomy (sp) so well that my Dr. couldn't find a scar. I have used it on my children and even my pets for all wounds. I can not live with out it.... I have also passed it on to many. The Company that made it was HUMCO. Last place I found it was at an OLLIES discount store in Scranton, Pa. If you can find this, get it..... You won't be sorry you did. Healing Hugs Connie
Green soap is never to be used on puncture wound (which a piercing is). If you have been instructed to use green soap then you have been given harmful information. See another professional body piercer of assistance.

A tincture is a solution; in this case the solvent is ethanol or water.
Yes, although I recommend Green Soap as the best of the best kind of soap solution to be applied on the skin on the tattoo wound. Okay alternatives would be Dr.Bronner's Soap. It can be found at most vitamin shops locally. Another alternative would be just basic sentless anti-bacterial soap mixed with alcohol. Again, Green Soap is the best thing to use, and Dr.Bronner Soap is close. Green soap may be sold at Costco.
No, Ivory soap is not green. Ivory soap is a white-colored bar soap known for its purity and gentle ingredients.
A solution of iodine and alcohol is called iodine tincture or tincture of iodine. It is commonly used as an antiseptic to prevent infection in minor cuts and scrapes.

Tincture of Iodine. A "tincture" is a solution made by dissolving a solid product into alcohol.
