Most outdoor cats almost never live past 10 years because of traffic accidents, diseases, Poisoning, attacks from dogs and other predators, picked up by Animal Control and euthanized for not being claimed, etc.
Feral or "stray" cats don't live past 2 years mainly because of starvation and the same reasons for outdoor cats.
