Answer 1:

The classes are jumping, dressage, hunter jumper and racing

Answer 2:

There is much more than that! There's English pleasure, show jumping, eventing, cross-country, and you totally left out western events. Western wise there's barrel racing, reining, western pleasure, team penning, cow herding, pole bending, and many more.

Then there are also games that you find at events like gymkahanas, like egg and spoon race, musical chairs, and several other fun challenging activities, like when you have to race around and pull a flag out of a barrel, or shoot balloons, etc.

Answer 3:

Hi, my name's Heather Diana Fox. I'm pretty young but I have been competing in English events in top-circut shows and even regionals. Anyways, I'm here to answer your question. I do English but I know a lot about Western too.

In English, there is Jumping, Cross Country, Hunter Under Saddle (I never understood the name...), Dressage, Leg Yielding, Jump-off, Free Styling, and the Horse and Pony Challange. There are a few more but these are the basics.

In Western, there is Pole Bending, Cattle Roping, Barrel Racing, Polo, Lassoing, Link Riding (this event is NOT in big circut shows, only in small or minor. Very rare.), and a few more.

What is a versatility horse show?

It is a type of horse show that has many classes, and in some of the classes you do, you show that your horse can be versatile and do many different things. eg. veteran classes, (which is where you show how good your horse is for their age - over 15's only), you show that your horse can do lots of things even though he is considered an old horse.

What kind of horse can you not show in a show?

Can you show a horse with a blemish?

It depends on the show, the blemish and the events you enter. If your horse has one eye or scars, he won't do well in halter classes. How large is the show. A small one-day schooling show is less demanding than a four day, multi-judged breed show.

How old does the horse have to be to be able be in a horse show?

It depends on the show. For some in-hand or lunging classes, your horse can be a yearling, or even younger. For most riding classes, your horse will need to be at least 3 years old, and some require the horse to be 5 or even older. Sorry for being to vague, but it depends on the show and the class, so i really can't give you a direct answer. If you asked a more specific question perhaps I could help you better.

What is the difference between a blue ribbon and a reserve champion at the horse show?

A horse show often has divisions. Within each division are separate "classes" in which ribbons will be awarded. Usually, a rider will enter in all the classes in a division. A blue ribbon is awarded for first place for each class. There will be for Champion of the division, which is the rider with the most points (there is a corresponding point system for the ribbons). The Reserve Champion is the rider with the second most points in the division.
