I believe it is a Jumping Spider (Family Salticidae). I just saw one on my porch and looked it up. I found a good picture on www.whatsthatbug.com/spiders4.html. I think I found an even closer likeness here: http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/common_spiders.pdf
The Phidippus audax is a common jumping spider. It is characterized by a hairy, black body and bright, iridescent green chelicerae.
It's probably some kind of jumping spider if you noticed the eyes in particular.

Jumping spiders. White dot indicates it is harmless.
A jumping spider such as the one you've described typically belong to the arachnid family called Salticidae. The particular one you've described sounds like it may be a Jotus auripes. The spiders in this family are not venomous. Without seeing the spider identification isn't certain, so you shouldn't try to handle the spider until positive identification can be made.
If the black cat has white fur as well, then yes. Solid black cats can have blue eyes, but it is very rare due to the way feline genetics are set up. In order for a black cat to have blue eyes, it must also carry the gene for white fur. A black cat with blue eyes usually has a tiny patch of white somewhere on its body (even just one or two hairs). It is much more common for a solid black cat to have yellow or green eyes.

His eyes were blue
I am black and my mom said I had blue eyes when I was born. If I am not wrong I think all babies are born with blue eyes.
Black eye color is a recessive trait meaning that for someone to have it both the mother and father would have to pass off the gene for Black eyes. Since the dominant gene always prevails over the recessive and one of the parents had blue eyes, this means that the parent with black eyes had both recessive genes for black eyes and therefor passed on the recessive gene. The other parent with the Blue eyes must have both genes blue and black, but since blue is considered to be dominant over black the blue, they have blue eyes, but passed on the recessive black eye gene. B - Blue Eye Gene (Dominant) b - Black Eye Gene (recessive) Mother - Bb (Blue Eyes) Father - bb (Black Eyes) Child - bb (Black Eyes)
